Terms
Terms of Service
The basis on which Sahel Verify provides verification and due diligence services.
Legal review required before publication
This page is a working draft and should be reviewed and finalised by appropriate Nigerian legal counsel before the website goes live.
Scope of service
Sahel Verify provides due diligence and verification services. Verification is based on information reasonably available and obtained during the engagement. The service does not guarantee future conduct or eliminate all risk.
Client responsibilities
The client is responsible for providing accurate information about the role and the candidate, and for using any report only for the hiring decision for which it was requested.
Candidate consent
Verification proceeds only where the candidate has given informed consent to the categories of checks disclosed to them.
Accuracy limitations
Findings depend on the availability, accessibility and responsiveness of sources. Where information cannot be independently confirmed, the report says so rather than presenting it as verified.
Turnaround estimates
Turnaround times are estimates and may be affected by source availability, candidate cooperation and field conditions.
Payment
Fees for the selected package are agreed before work begins. Any applicable additional costs are communicated in advance.
Cancellation
Where an engagement is cancelled after work has begun, charges may apply for verification already carried out.
Confidentiality
Client identity, candidate information and verification findings are treated as confidential and used only for the verification purpose for which they were collected.
Data protection
Information is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable Nigerian data-protection requirements.
Liability
Verification reduces uncertainty but cannot eliminate risk. The hiring decision remains entirely with the client, and Sahel Verify is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of a report.
Complaints
Concerns about an engagement or a report can be raised with us directly and will be reviewed.
Governing law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to final legal review.
Verification disclaimer
This report reflects findings from due diligence performed as of the date issued. Sahel Verify does not guarantee the future conduct of any individual. Verification can reduce uncertainty, but it cannot eliminate risk. The hiring decision remains entirely with the client.
